SAN DIEGO, January 30, 2023 — IU Vice President Shamus Sayed will be representing the company at the 11^th Annual ALC UnConference in Costa Rica, February 1^st through 4^th, 2023. The ALC (Association of Language Companies) is a trade association that represents businesses in the language services industry, bringing them together to learn from and inspire each other. Their goal is to support language service companies and provide members with resources, research, expertise and education to help promote growth and success.

Each year the ALC holds their UnConference, unlike a traditional conference, the UnConference focuses on roundtable discussions among attendees on a variety of topics ranging from HR/Operations, Advocacy, M&A, Industry Trends to Technology and more. It is an event that creates opportunities for collaboration, networking, knowledge sharing, and mentoring. The UnConference offers a unique and collaborative environment for attendees to learn from each other and support the growth of the language service industry as a whole.

IU at the 10th Annual ALC Unconference

SAN DIEGO, February 9, 2022 — Interpreters Unlimited (IU) will be participating in the 10^th Annual ALC (Association of Language Companies) Unconference in Orlando, Florida, Feb 9-12, 2022. This year the event is back in person where last year it was 100% virtual. There is also an additional virtual summit 2/16-2/17 for those who would prefer virtual over in person.

The UnConference is not your usual conference, with no keynote speakers or panels arranged, the flow and content of the event is shaped and crafted by the attendees. Their ideas and participation run the show. Conference sessions are usually roundtable discussions among attendees on various topics such as HR/Operations, Advocacy, M&A, RFP’s, Industry Trends, Technology and the ALC itself.

IU VP Shamus Sayed is an ALC board member who holds an important role handling new membership meet and greets and then mentoring at the event as well as year round. Shamus represents IU at the event every year.

The ALC is a U.S. based international trade association, representing businesses that provide translation, interpretation, localization, language testing, and language training services across the globe.
